All over the world, the lines of the palm on the hand are thought to be deciding the fate of an individual. There is a study describing the reading of this lines on the palm, known as "Palmistry".

Interestingly, if you are not happy with your present day position related to life, love, money or any other aspect, you may think certain lines on the palm are responsible. To help you out, the plastic surgeons of Japan have a remedy. They change the lines on the palm as per your problem... changing the life-line, love related heart line and so on.

સીમંત - સીમંતોન્નયન સંસ્કાર

હિન્દુઓમાં લગ્ન પછી મા-બાપ થવાની પહેલી વારની અવસ્થાનું ખૂબ મહત્વ છે. ગર્ભમાં રહેલ બાળકને શુદ્ધ કરવું – પવિત્ર કરવું જરૂરી હોવાથી તે બાબતનું સંસ્કરણ કરવામાં આવે છે. તેથી જીવન દરમ્યાન થતાં સોળ સંસ્કારોમાંથી એક સીમંતોન્નયન સંસ્કાર ખૂબ જરૂરી છે. આ વિધિ ગર્ભાવસ્થાના અંતિમ તબક્કામાં છઠ્ઠા કે આઠમા માહિનામાં કરવામાં આવે છે. બાળક જન્મ પહેલાના સમયગાળામાં માતાની મન:સ્થિતિની સીધી અસર બાળક ઉપર પડે છે – એટલે આનંદોત્સવ મનાવવાથી સ્ત્રીનું મન આ સમય દરમ્યાન પ્રસન્ન રહે છે જેથી બાળક પણ તંદુરસ્ત રહે છે. ઘરમાં બાળક આવવાના સમાચાર માત્રથી સમગ્ર પરિવારમાં ઉત્સાહ અને આનંદનું વાતાવરણ હોય છે અને સૌ આતુરતાથી આવનાર બાળક મહેમાનના આગમનની રાહ જોતાં હોઈ છે. સીમંત વિધિ (ખોળો ભરવો – गोद भराई – Baby Shower) શબ્દસહ સમજીએ તો સીમંત એટલે વાળ અને ઉન્નયન એટલે ઉપર ચઢાવવા. વિધિની શરૂઆતમાં પતિ મંત્ર બોલી પત્નીના વાળ સજાવે છે અને સેંથામાં સિંદુર પૂરે છે. સંસ્કૃત મંત્ર દ્વારા કહે છે : “દેવતાઓની માતા અદિતીના સીમંતોન્નયન સંસ્કાર પ્રજાપતિઓને કર્યા હતા અને અદિતીના પેટે દેવતાઓ જન્મ્યા હતા એમ હું સીમંતોન્નયન શ્રેષ્ઠ અન...

Anavils - An Endangered Community

After Parsis, Anavils ( Anavil Brahmins , અનાવિલ બ્રાહ્મણ ) are the fastest decreasing community. The total population of Anavils around the world does not exceed two lakhs figure and that is also fast reducing day by day. Days are not far, beyond a century or so, when they will have to be seen/found in records, photos, and videos. Why? Because, - they get married too late, - many are dying unmarried, - they wait for the career to be settled before the first (and maybe the only) childbirth. વસિયતનામું (Will)

વસિયતનામું એક લખાણ (Document) છે જેના દ્વારા લખનારની મિલકતના ભાગલા અને ફેરબદલ (Transfer) લખનારના મૃત્યુ બાદ નિર્દેષીત વ્યક્તિઓ કે સંસ્થાને કરવામાં આવે છે. કાનૂની(Legal) રીતે માન્ય દસ્તાવેજ-વસિયતનામું લખનારની મિલકતની પોતાના મૃત્યુ બાદ વહેંચણી બાબતે માહિતી આપે છે. વસિયત લખવાનો હેતુ લખનારનું મન અને ઇચ્છાને સરળતાથી કહેવાનો છે. વસિયતનામું મિલકત ધરાવનાર કોઈપણ વ્યક્તિ વારસદારોને આપવાની ઈચ્છા જણાવવા કરી શકે છે વસિયત ૧૮ વર્ષથી ઉપરનો પુખ્ત વ્યક્તિ (સ્ત્રી કે પુરુષ) કરી શકે છે. વસિયત લખનારની માનસિક હાલત સ્વસ્થ હોવી જોઈએ. વસિયત લખવાની સરકારી એજન્સી દ્વારા મનાઈ ન ફરમાવેલ હોવું જોઈએ. પ્રોબેટ (Probate) Indian Succession Act, 1925 Section 2 મુજબ પ્રોબેટ યોગ્ય ન્યાયાલય દ્વારા વસિયતનામાની કાયદેસર(Legation) સચ્ચાઈ(Correction) અને પ્રમાણિકતાની(Genuineness) ખાતરી આપતો હુકમ (Decree) છે પશ્ચિમ બંગાળ, બિહાર, ઓરિસ્સા, આસામ ઉપરાંત દિલ્હી, મુંબઈ, અને ચેન્નઈ નો મ્યુનિસિપલ કોર્પોરેશન હદ ના રહેવાસીઓ માટે પ્રોબેટ ફરજિયાત છે મૃત્યુના સાત દિવસ પછી પ્રોબેટ માટે અરજી થઈ શકે છે. મૃત્યુનું મનોમંથન

ભારત માં જન્મને શુભ અને મૃત્યુ ને અશુભ કહ્યું છે. હકીકતમાં જ્ન્મ-મૃત્યુ બન્ને એક સિક્કાની બે બાજુઓ છે જે બન્ને પરસ્પર જોડાયેલા છે. મૃત્યુની શરૂઆત જન્મથી થાય છે અને તેથી જ તો અનેક અનિશ્ચિત ચિતતાઓને કારણે વ્યક્તિ કોઈપણ ઉંમરે મૃત્યુ પામે છે. ભારતમાં આઝાદી સમયે ૧૯૪૭માં જીવનની અપેક્ષા જન્મ સમયે ૩૭ વર્ષ હતી, તે આજે ૨૦૨૨ માં લગભગ ૭૦ વર્ષ છે (life expectancy at birth). તેમાંય પુરુષનું જીવનકાળ ૬૭.૪ વર્ષ અને સ્ત્રીનો જીવનકાળ ૭૦.૩ વર્ષ એટલેકે લગભગ ૩ વર્ષ ઓછો હોય છે. મરણના મુખ્ય દસ કારણોમાં હ્રદયરોગ ૨૫%, શ્વસનતંત્ર રોગ ૧૦%, ટી.બી. ૧૦%, કેન્સર ૧૦% છે. તો અનિર્ણિત માંદગી, પાચનતંત્રના રોગ, ઝાડા અને અકસ્માત દરેક પાંચ-પાંચ ટકા છે. અને આપઘાત અને મેલેરિયા ત્રણ-ત્રણ ટકા છે. એટલે કે ભારતમાં લગભગ સિત્તેર વર્ષના જીવન પછી હ્રદયરોગથી મરણ ની શક્યતા સૌથી વધુ છે. હા, અમારા દક્ષિણ ગુજરાત નાં અનાવિલ બ્રહ્માણ સમાજમાં મૃત્યુની ઉંમર ૮૪ વર્ષની આસપાસ છે! કરુણતા પૂર્વક સ્વીકારવું રહ્યું કે વર્તમાન મેડિકલ વિજ્ઞાન ને કારણે પહેલાંની જેમ મૃત્યુની ઘડી જલ્દી આવતી નથી અને વૃદ્ધ માણસ બીમાર પડીને તરત મૃત્યુ પામતો નથી, પણ હોસ...

Long Vacation At Bengaluru

After voluntary retirement as Government Medical Officer, my wife Dr Bhavana (Devyani) wanted to have a vacation and I joined her. The long break of 14 days (2 weeks) was starting on date 9th March 2011 and ending on 23rd March 2011. We planned to stay at Rahul’s (our son) residence at Bangalore and return to Bilimora.
