Bible: New Testament - Teachings

(1) Eight Beatitudes: Mathew 5: 1 to 12 the Sermon on the Mount.
- Blessed are the poor in spirit for there is the kingdom of heaven.
- Blessed are the meek, for they shall possess the land.
- Blessed are that they that mourn, for they shall be comforted.
- Blessed are they who hunger and thirst after juice, for they shall be filled.
- Blessed are the merciful, for they shall attain mercy.
- Blessed are the clean of heart, for they shall see GOD.
- Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called the children of GOD.
- Blessed are they who suffer persecution for justice sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
- Blessed are you because your reward is very great in heaven. (262)

(2) When thou dost almost dead, sound hot a trumpet before thee, as the hypocrite does in the synagogues and in the streets that they may be honoured by men.
Take heed you do not your good works before men in order to be seen by them, otherwise, you shall have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.

(3) Confidence in GOD:
Lay not up for yourselves treasures on earth, where rust and moth consume, and where thieves break through and steal. But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven where neither rust nor moth consumes.

(4) Where thy treasure is, there is thy heart also. Therefore, I say to you, be not anxious for your life, what you shall eat, nor for the body, what you shall put on. Is not the life more than the food? And body more than the raiment?

Behold the fowls of the air for they sow not, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, yet your heavenly Father feedeth them. And for raiment, why are you solicitous? Consider the lilies of the field. How they grow, they labour neither do they spin.

Be not solicitous, therefore saying: What shall we eat or what shall we drink or where shall we be clothed? For, after all these things do the heathens seek. For your father knows that you have need of all these things. Seek ye, therefore first the kingdom of God and His justice and all these things shall be added unto you.

(5) Judge not, that you may not be judged. For with what judgment you have judged, you shall be judged and with what measure you have measured, it shall be measured to you again.

All things, therefore, whatsoever you would that men should do to you, do you also do to them for this is the law and prophets. (266)

(6) Jesus said:

The blind see,
The lame walk,
The lepers cured,
The dead rise again,
To the poor, the gospel is preached and blessed is he that shall not be scandalized in me. (276)

(7)
ASK AND IT SHALL BE GIVEN.
SEEK AND YOU WILL GIVEN FIND,
KNOCK AND DOOR WILL OPEN FOR YOU. (297)

(8) He that stoppeth his ear against the cry of poor, shall also cry himself and shall not be heard. (299)

(9) What must I do to possess eternal life? Thou shall love the Lord, thy God, with thy whole heart and with thy whole soul, and with all thy mind and thy neighbour as thyself. (302)

(10) Ten Commandments:
Thou shall not kill,
Thou shall not commit adultery,
Thou shall not steal
Thou shall not bear false witness
Honour thy father and thy mother
Thou shall love thy neighbour as thyself. (320)

(11) Seven Words of Jesus on the cross before death.
1. He saved other, himself, he cannot save.
2. FATHER, FORGIVE THEM FOR THEY KNOW NOT WHAT THEY DO.

Comments

  1. Dr. Bharat Desai, First of all thank you for taking time and writing about Christianity. Being a Catholic, I, myself, have'nt read the Bible completley. Now I shall do that. From Part 1, I loved what you mentioned - "Above details prepare us so we see ourselves clearly and our continual merry-go-round of pleasure-seeking, money-seeking, relationship-seeking or drug-seeking which ends in despair, emptiness, loneliness or addiction stops. Now we know the meaning and purpose of life" - This is what all religions teach us. The sooner we understand this, life will be wonderful and so much simpler, for all of us... Regards Deena

Anavils - An Endangered Community

After Parsis, Anavils ( Anavil Brahmins , āŠ…āŠĻાāŠĩિāŠē āŠŽ્āŠ°ાāŠđ્āŠŪāŠĢ ) are the fastest decreasing community. The total population of Anavils around the world does not exceed two lakhs figure and that is also fast reducing day by day. Days are not far, beyond a century or so, when they will have to be seen/found in records, photos, and videos. Why? Because,    - they get married too late,    - many are dying unmarried,    - they wait for the career to be settled before the first (and maybe the only) childbirth. So,    The number of children per couple is either one or zero.    It is certain that nothing can save this community from extinction - vanishing! Let me try to introduce this community. Mr. Klass W VanDer Veen - a Dutch scholar and Professor at Amsterdam University prepared a thesis on "Anavils" and wrote a book "I Give Thee My Daughter ". He concluded, "Anavils are smart, efficient, and clever but heavily disunited....

History Of Muslims In India: Hindu-Muslim Relations

With this article, I would like to tell you about three things: (1) the History of Islam and Muslims in India; then I will try to elaborate, specifically telling (2) What went wrong; and finally, I will conclude by telling (3) The future of relations amongst Muslims and Hindus. Although it is routine to give references, in the end, I shall start with the list of three reference books in the beginning. All these details are not mine, I’ve only summarized them from these books. 1. Karmic Theory (Law Of Karma)

“Facing Challenges and Creating Destiny” by BK Shivani, Gurgaon National Conference on Mind-Body-Medicine, Mount Abu. August 6-10, 2010 What is Karma? Karma is work or energy going out in the form of 1. Thought, 2. Word and/or 3. Action. Resultant return of energy is in the same amount known as Bhagya (Destiny). The role of God is to ask you to do Karma and to help you to do the RIGHT karma. Then whatever good/bad karma you do, the result is accordingly and entirely your responsibility. Because the result is Destiny (Bhagya). So don’t blame anyone else or God for anything bad. Do not try to blame someone responsible for your own deed and its result. Be aware and create/decide your own destiny (Bhagya). Actually, the role of God is to: Give us the strength to handle the problem/situation Accompany us in solving the issue Guide Love unconditionally Give proper knowledge and Pour power to face the situation So pause a little before doing something wrong, think it will ...

Long Vacation At Bengaluru

After voluntary retirement as Government Medical Officer, my wife Dr Bhavana (Devyani) wanted to have a vacation and I joined her. The long break of 14 days (2 weeks) was starting on date 9th March 2011 and ending on 23rd March 2011. We planned to stay at Rahul’s (our son) residence at Bangalore and return to Bilimora. Vacation - is stopping the continuous job/work and retire at some place at leisure. We know vacation is a change of activity and we did that. It is a recess, say a break or temporary cessation of routine work. Is vacation necessary ?
