My daughter-in-law Shivani has seen many family get-togethers during the last decade at her paternal home town - Dungri. So she wanted a similar gathering with the family in Bilimora. We four i.e. Bhavana, Vaishali , Rahul , and I were reluctant to hold one without any cause. Ultimately, we thought of trying this at least once, and so we decided to hold our Sharada Mohan family 's first " Family Reunion " on 24-25 January 2021, Sunday-Monday. A family is a unit of people formed naturally by brothers and sisters of the same parents. A family can be extended by adding uncles and aunts (Kaka, Fui, Mama, Masi) with their offspring. Thus, a family comprises the people who love and support the members in good and bad times. ભારત એક જમીન ધરાવતો પ્રદેશ છે - તે આપણને ખબર છે. પણ ભારત એ એક દેશ છે, જેમાં જીવંત-વિચારશીલ અને દેશપ્રેમ ધરાવતા લોકો સમુહમાં રહે છે, જેઓ ભારતીય તરીકે પોતાને ઓળખાવે છે અને ભારત દેશ માટે દેશપ્રેમ અને દેશભક્તિ ધરાવે છે. તે બરાબર જાણવાની જરૂરિયાત છે.   

If someone dared to ask you a simple question - "Do you follow Indian customs and traditions?" Most of the time the response would be negative. Because of being impressed by (and obsessed with) the Western styles and traditions seen during the British rule and afterwards, we follow them blindly and ultimately start ignoring our rich traditions. Many of us even feel shy to observe them. We have not bothered to understand our Indian culture at all. Our traditions have a scientific, logical, historical, social, and spiritual significance.

My friend Dr Ashwinbhai Naik  asked me to share my views on the topic 'jealousy' and that created this viewpoint article. Jealousy is an emotion inherited by all of us. It has nothing to do with age, sex, intellectual level or financial status. This emotion is a negative one expressed according to the intensity of the feeling, and that is why some people can hide it even though they have it in the back of their minds.

I recently read the novel "Pyramid of Virgin Dreams" by Vipul Mitra. He affectionately described the pains and pleasures of multiple transfers because of his father’s job as DSP and later himself as an IAS officer. While reading it occurred to me, I have had a similar life of changing a place many times nearly every alternate year. So why not narrate my story and the article is here! A nomad means someone who lives by travelling from place to place - moving around all the while. I was a nomad for the initial 28 years of my life, staying and studying at more than 15 places. A year or two and change of the place again! 

વિદ્યાર્થીઓ દ્વારા શિક્ષકને વિદાય સમયે કદાચ સ્મૃતિ-ભેટ અપાય કે શાળા અને/અથવા વિદ્યાર્થીઓ દ્વારા સારી રીતે મઢાવેલ સન્માન-પત્ર વિદાય સમારંભ વખતે અર્પણ થાય. કદાચ વધુ ઉત્સાહી હોય તો સંભારણું કે પરિચય પુસ્તિકા છાપવામાં આવે છે. પણ વર્ષો પછી 2014 માં સ્ટુડન્ટ રિયુનિયનમાં ભેગા થયેલા 1988 બેચના વિદ્યાર્થીઓ તેમના ગુરુજી માટે એક જીવનચરિત્ર અને વિવિધ પ્રકારના લેખકો-સગા સંબંધીઓ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ દ્વારા લેખકોનું સંકલન કરી 422 પાનાનું પુસ્તક છાપાવે તેવું પહેલીવાર જોવા મળ્યું. ધન્ય છે ગુરુજી મહેશભાઈ અને ધન્ય છે આ સાહસ કરનાર વિરેનભાઈ-જીનાબેન શેઠ અને વિદ્યાર્થીઓ-શિષ્યો!   “વહાલનું અક્ષયપાત્ર” શીર્ષક બિલકુલ યથાર્થ છે, કારણ અહીં શિષ્યોએ (વિદ્યાર્થી અવસ્થામાં અને ત્યાર પછી જીવનપર્યંત) ગુરૂજીએ વરસાવેલ અનહદ પ્રેમ-આશીર્વાદ અને માર્ગદર્શનનું ઋણ અદા કારવાનો નમ્ર પ્રયાસ આદર્યો છે. મહાભારતમાં શ્રીકૃષ્ણે દ્રૌપદીને આપેલ અક્ષયપાત્રની જેમ જ આ માનવીય અક્ષયપાત્ર ક્યારેય ખાલી થયેલ શિષ્યોને લાગ્યું નથી ત્યારે, ગુરુજી પ્રેમના પ્રતીકરૂપ “વ્હાલનું અક્ષયપાત્ર” શિર્ષક યથાયોગ્ય અને સંપૂર્ણ છે. કોઈ જાતની ...
