National Conference on Mind-Body-Medicine
Mount Abu
August 6-10, 2010
Part-II Stay, Food and Beverages
Continued from Part-I The Journey
Stay at Gyaan Sarovar, Mount Abu
Staying with 9 other persons in the same room - a dormitory - is a rare experience worth trying. You get this experience only at youth hostels trekking programs.
10 rich consulting doctors from different parts of India are never seen in the same room anywhere. 750 doctors could stay there. There was an option if staying elsewhere with spouse which many refused.
It is the only place, I have ever seen, where no lock to the room is needed and still nothing is lost. Though primary level facility, cleanliness of the room and lavatory was excellent.
Food and Beverages
From morning till evening, we were served breakfast, lunch, dinner and three times tea/coffee. Morning breakfast included either upama, pohe, paratha or vegetable with curd/buttermilk. Lunch and dinner had chapati, vegetable, rice/khichadi and dal/kadhi with sweet and farsaan. Afternoon tea/coffee was always accompanied by dry snacks. The water to drink was mineral one hot and cold type.
Sitting at home, one cannot imagine pleasure of meals with more than 1000 people around you in the rainy and hilly scenic beauties of Abu. In fact, you are never that hungry to go for next food.
