Basics of Raj Yoga:
- Place: When you sit to meditate, choose the quietest place you can find, preferably in a room which you do not use very often. If this is not possible, sit where the familiar objects around you don’t distract your attention. Set this place aside, purely for the purpose of meditation.
- Light: Soft or subdued lighting will help.
- Sitting method: Sit in a comfortable position with the back straight. You can sit on a cushion on the floor cross-legged or if this does not suit you, sit on a chair.
- Music: Light music may be played, as it helps in creating relaxed, light atmosphere.
- Time: Best time to is early in the morning at 4, but you can do this as early as possible before you begin your day's activity. Another good time is in the evening, when your day's activities are over. Even during the day, keep reminding yourself about this.
