My Daily Activity Report Card

Last year I wrote an article describing my year-round activities. It covered gross points of major activities and events in the year 2018. Then I thought why not write something about my day-to-day activities once in a while and the result is this article!

I am a practising ophthalmologist for 40+ years. Activities other than eye disease treatment is at the cost of professional practice. But I do not mind losing practice nowadays because that is my concept of stepwise, gradual retirement.

Let me start.
  • On Saturday, 28-Sep-2019 4:00 PM onwards, I attended a lecture from Shreya Kataria1 (my favourite young author) on a book review at the Senior Citizens Club, Gandevi. After this, there was a Lions Club meeting at 7:00 PM.
  • On 04-Oct-2019, I travelled 184 km to Nizar for my lecture on Personality Development2 to 250 colleges students of this relatively backward area. To my surprise, they heard me sincerely and repeated the gross points of my lecture when asked. Same day evening, there was a Garba3 programme with inmates of an old-age home in Gandevi, following dinner.
  • Last week, our Lions Club of Bilimora Yugma celebrated the Service Week. on 30-Sep-2019, there was a rally for Traffic Awareness4 on Road Safety at 10:30 AM with Bilimora Municipality, Police Department. and Rehbar Auto Dealer. 400+ motor-cyclists participated.
  • The second rally was on 02-Oct-2019, 7.30 AM we celebrated 150th Gandhi Jayanti5. We gathered at Bili Harijanvas for flag hoisting and had a rally with 1,100 people including high-school students.
  • On 03-Oct-2019, 9.30 AM we visited Nandini Gaushala, Bhaiya Tekri, Gandevi to feed cows there and do Animal Service6.
  • On 05-Oct-2019, 9.00 AM I joined Eye Check-up Camp7 at Somnath Primary School, Bilimora with Dr Darshana Naik. More than 120 students were attended to.
  • On 06-Oct-2019, Sunday, after attending Garba with Senior Citizens8 of Bilimora, we went to Dandak Van9, Vansada for a night stay with my wife Dr Bhavana and daughter Vaishali. I learnt Vihangam Yoga10 between 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The stay in the forest surrounded by hills and the temple is an experiment worth enjoying.
Ten different activities in ten days! No time for complaining or depression, only enjoying all the time being busy with people around.
